A science fiction scene in which a newly-evolved man stares into an uncertain future, eyes closed. His face is framed by bits and pieces of human anatomy, including blue veins, red arteries and muscle tissue. Surreal study of what man may become eons from now. Handmade collage using paper and watercolor.
We can imagine through science fiction what our future will be, but we cannot grasp it. The basic laws of nature will no longer be able to be used as the basis for our decisions. Only natural laws could be used as a model for a program, but in the future we will no longer need such a program. The development of artificial intelligence and nanotechnology is already underway; these developments will further transform human society and make possible new kinds of knowledge and ways of life that could not be imagined even only ten or twenty years ago.
